1. Combustion synthesis of Co-Cu-Mn oxides deploying different fuels
ABSTRACTTernary spinel-like oxides such as CuFeMnO4, CoCuMnOxand CuCr2O4 are attractive materials due to their absorbent properties when used as pigments for selective surfaces thus improving solar heaters efficiency. These materials are obtained through sol-gel and sol-gel-combustion methods. This work proposes the synthesis of mixed oxides of Co, Cu and Mn

2. Evaluation of a nanostructured microwave absorbent coating applied to a glass fiber/polyphenylene sulfide laminated composite
The rapid coating of composites with absorbing paints yields materials that can absorb microwave radiation and still have approximately the same specific mass of the original composites. The use of paints with specific electromagnetic properties together with carbon- nanotube-based materials allows the production of structural materials of interest to the ae

3. Synthesis, characterization and microwave absorption of carbon-coated Cu nanocapsules
The microstructure and microwave absorption of carbon-coated Cu nanocapsules have been investigated. Carbon-coated Cu nanocapsules have been synthesized by an arc-discharge method. The paraffin-Cu/C nanocapsules composite shows excellent electromagnetic (EM) absorption properties. An optimal reflection loss (RL) value of - 40.0 dB is reached at 10.52 GHz for

4. Dielectric properties of microwave absorbing sheets produced with silicone and polyaniline
The aim of this study was to produce sheets of microwave absorbing materials using conductive polyaniline dispersed in a silicone rubber matrix and to characterize the electromagnetic properties (absorption, transmission and reflection of electromagnetic energy; and electric permittivity and magnetic permeability) of these sheets in the X-band (8 - 12 GHz).

5. Efeito do digluconato de clorexidina na estabilidade da união de sistemas adesivos e dentina sadia ou afetada por carie / Effect of clorhexidine digluconate on the bond strength of etch-and-rinse adhesives to normal/caries-affected dentin
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of 2% chlorhexidine digluconate on the bond strength of etch-and-rinse adhesives applied to sound (SD) and caries-affected dentin (CAD). It is hypothesized that CHX does not have a detrimental effect on the bond strength to sound and caries-affected dentin, as well as that CHX may decelerate the mechanical deg

6. Obtainion and characterization of absorbent materials throught carboximelation of etanol/water pulp non fiber fraction sugar cane bagasse. / Obtenção e caracterização de materiais absorventes através de carboximetilação de polpa etanol/água de medula de bagaço de cana de açúcar.
This work describes the use of ethanol / water pulps of pith in a study aiming the obtention and characterization of substantially insoluble carboxymethylcellulose for application as an absorvente material. In a typical experiment the carboxymethylation reaction of bleached ethanol / water pulp occurred at 80°C for 4 hours in isopropanol/ water suspensio

7. Propriedades opticas de carvões minerais e grafites
Coals from southern Brazil with high mineral matter content were studied with infrared absorption spectroscopy and reflectivity measurements. The results of Raman and photoluminescence experiments are also reported. Reference measurements were performed on coals with low mineral content and graphite?s (which are structurally similar to the coals with the hig
