1. Morphological and Structural Variations in Anodic Films grown on Polished and Electropolished Titanium Substrates
The objective of this work was to investigate the effects of anodization parameters on the anatase phase formation of titanium oxide films, which have been grown on both electropolished and non-electropolished titanium surfaces by direct current anodization in 0.25 and 2.5 mol L-1 H3PO4 solutions, respectively, at three anodization times (3, 6 and 12 hours).

2. Facile One-Step Electrodeposition Fabrication of Amorphous MoS2 Catalysts in Titanium for Hydrogen Evolution Reaction
Hydrogen is seen as a future energy carrier that will assist the global energy fuel demand. However, it is still necessary to study efficient and inexpensive catalysts that can be used on a large scale to make this technology practical. In this paper the electrodeposition of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) film on titanium (Ti) substrate was performed by cyclic

3. Temperature Dependence of Electrical Resistance in Ge-Sb-Te Thin Films
Nowadays, the Ge-Sb-Te system is studied extensively for use in the field of both electrical and optical non-volatile memories. The key of this application is based on the changes in the physical properties (electrical conductivity or refractive index) of these films as a result of structural transformation between amorphous and crystalline states. Both stat

4. Dependence of Wear and Mechanical Behavior of Nitrocarburized/CrN/DLC Layer on Film Thickness
Diamond-like carbon (DLC) films are amorphous metastable carbon form that provide interesting mechanical and tribological properties. The role of film thickness influence upon wear and mechanical properties is of interest and not yet fully reported. In this study, two samples of previously plasma nitrocarburized, quenched and tempered H13 steel were duplex t

5. Nb-doped Ti2O3 Films Deposited Through Grid-Assisted Magnetron Sputtering on Glass Substrate: Electrical and Optical Analysis
Abstract Niobium doped dititanium trioxide (Ti2O3:Nb) films were deposited on glass substrates, through grid-assisted magnetron sputtering. The Ti2O3:Nb films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), electrical conductivity and optical properties. Film deposition was carried out in two different substrate bias modes: DC and unipolar pulsed. Results sho

6. Synthesis and characterization of nanostructured TiO2 and TiO2/W thin films deposited by co-sputtering
ABSTRACT Nanostructured TiO2 and TiO2/W thin films were deposited on Corning glass substrates by RF and DC magnetron co-sputtering at room temperature, using three targets of TiO, Ti and W. After deposition, samples were subjected to an annealing treatment in air at 500 °C for 3 hrs. The effect of the annealing treatment and tungsten addition to the TiO2 ma

7. Structural, Optical and Thermal Characterizations of PVA/MAA:EA Polyblend Films
Films of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), Methacrylic Acid - Ethyl Acrylate (MAA:EA) copolymer and their blends PVA:MAA:EA of composition 80:20, 60:40, 50:50, 40:60, 20:80 (wt %) were prepared by using the solution cast technique. The prepared films were investigated by structural, optical and thermal studies. X-ray diffraction (XRD) scans revealed the semicrystalli

8. Manipulation of Glassy State in Amorphous Selenium by Low-temperature Internal Friction Measurements
We have studied the thickness and quench-rate dependent internal friction of amorphous selenium (a-Se) thin films deposited at room temperature. The internal friction of a-Se films exhibit a temperature independent plateau below 1 K followed by a broad maximum at 10 K. The plateau, which is seen in almost all amorphous solids, is caused by dissipation by two

9. Properties of barrier shrink bags made with EVOH and polyamide for fresh beef meat preservation
Abstract The objective of this work was to compare the barrier and mechanical properties and shrinkability of coextruded films chlorine-free, with high barrier chlorine multilayer films traditionally used to preserve fresh beef. Four 9-layer barrier-shrink films containing PET, ethylene ionomers, polyamide PA66/6 modified with amorphous PA, 32 or 44 mol% EV

10. Resistivity Reduction of Nanostructured Undoped Zinc Oxide thin Films for Ag/ZnO Bilayers Using APCVD and Sputtering Techniques
Nanostructured undoped zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films were deposited using atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (APCVD) on glass substrates using zinc acetate dehydrate [C4H6O4Zn·2H2O, ZnAc] in less than 2 minutes for each sample. In order to reduce the resistivity of ZnO films, a very thin layer of Ag was deposited on top of the films via the sputte

11. TiO2 thin Films for Biofouling Applications
This work presents a study of TiO2 thin films prepared by sputtering, for using as protection for biofouling action on marine structures. Titanium oxide thin films were prepared with different amount of oxygen on the surface of regular 1020 steel, a structural material for marine technology. The cristalline structure analysis evidenced the formation of anata

12. Effect of pH on Optic and Structural Characterization of Chemical Deposited AgI Thin Films
AgI thin films were grown on amorphous commercial glass substrates with chemical bath deposition (CBD) at different pH values (2, 3, 4, 5, 6), 6 hours deposition time and 60 °C. The structure of the nanocrystals was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The ratio of Ag+ and I- ions changed the crystalline structures. The presence of the Ag+ ions produce
