2. Detecção e identificação molecular de um fitoplasma do grupo 16SrIII em plantas de maçã com sintomas de lenho mole. / Detection and molecular identification of a phytoplasma of the group 16sriii in apple plants with rubbery wood symptoms.
The proliferation and rubbery wood diseases which are associated with phytoplasma are some of the diseases that occur in apple trees (Malus spp). In the case of rubbery wood disease, phytoplasm is not totally accepted as its causal agent. However, several researches by using electron microscopy and tissue grafting, have been able to show the phytoplasma asso

3. Physical Map of the Chromosome of the Apple Proliferation Phytoplasma
A physical map of the apple proliferation phytoplasma strain AT chromosome was constructed from genomic DNA extracted from diseased tobacco plants. The map was generated with single and double digestions of the chromosome with BssHII, SmaI, MluI, and ApaI restriction endonucleases and resolving the fragments by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis. Partial diges

4. The first phytoplasma RNase P RNA provides new insights into the sequence requirements of this ribozyme
A high variability of RNase P RNA structures is seen among members of the Mycoplasma group. To gain further insight into the structure–function relations of this ribozyme, we have searched for the RNase P RNA gene from more distant relatives, the phytoplasmas. These mycoplasma-like organisms are the aetiological agents of many severe plant diseases.
