1. RADIOACTIVE CEMENT OF PMMA AND HAP-Sm-153, Ho-166, OR RE-188 FOR BONE METASTASIS TREATMENT

2. Artificial urinary sphincter for urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy: a historical cohort from 2004 to 2015
ABSTRACT This study aimed to retrospectively evaluate a cohort of patients with prostate cancer and persistent urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy. From January 2004 to December 2015, eighty-six individuals were identified to have received an AUS implant, provided by a private nonprofit HMO operating in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. On total, there we

3. Evaluation of cytotoxicity and corrosion resistance of orthodontic mini-implants

4. Electrochemical Stability and Bioactivity Evaluation of Ti6Al4V Surface Coated with Thin Oxide by EIS for Biomedical Applications
To improve the implants biocompatibility many surface modifications were proposed. Investigations about the surface modification on Ti alloys by anodic oxidation are reported. This research presents a study on the stability of thin titanium dioxide grown by potentiodynamic method on Ti6Al4V surfaces up to 5.0 V. Its bioactive surface in phosphate buffer solu

5. Mechanical influence of thread pitch on orthodontic mini-implant stability
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of pitch distance on the primary stability (PS) of orthodontic mini-implants (MIs) in artificial bone. Twenty experimental MIs were allocated to two groups, according to their geometric design: G1(30oX 0.6 mm) and G2(45o X 0.8 mm), and inserted into artificial bone of different densities: D1 (0.32 g/cm3) and D

6. Growth and electrochemical stability of self-organized TiO2nanotubes on Ti-2 grade and orthopedic Ti6Al4V alloy for biomedical application
Titanium and its alloys are biomaterials used in endosseous implants, due to desirable mechanical properties, high corrosion resistance and biocompatibility. Using electrochemical anodization technique these materials can be recovered with self-organized TiO2 nanotubes layer resulting in increased specific surface area and probable bioactivity improvement.

7. In vitro analysis of the influence of surface treatment of dental implants on primary stability
Surface treatment interferes with the primary stability of dental implants because it promotes a chemical and micromorphological change on the surface and thus stimulates osseointegration. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different surface treatments on primary stability by analyzing insertion torque (IT) and pullout force (PF). Eight samples of i

8. Enxerto sintético e biológico, com e sem preenchimento de veia jugular externa, no reparo de nervo periférico em ratos / Syntetic and biological graft, filled with the external jugular vein in the repair of peripheral nerve in rats
Despite the development of technology involved in peripheral nerve regeneration, there is no technique that presents a recovery of the nervous tissue with completely satisfactory results. This fact arouses interest of several researchers around the word. Although the autologous nerve grafting is the current gold standard for the repair of large nerve gaps, o

9. Assessment of the genetic risks of a metallic alloy used in medical implants
The use of artificial implants provides a palliative or permanent solution for individuals who have lost some bodily function through disease, an accident or natural wear. This functional loss can be compensated for by the use of medical devices produced from special biomaterials. Titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) is a well-established primary metallic biomaterial

10. Caracterização de polivinilálcool e polivinilpirrolidona (PVAI/PVP) para reparo de cartilagem articular mandibular / Characterization of polyvinylalcohol and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVAI/PVP) for repair of articular carlilage mandibular
