RESUMO
The Party of Congada of São Sebastião do Paraíso, MG, is a secular Party of afrodescendant origin, carried through, by means of the confluence of multiple interests articulated between the producers of the Party, called congadeiros and moçambiqueiros, the representatives of the City hall, Church, traders and farmers, and more recently the companies of media, in the local scope. This text presents the analysis of the media products that represent this Party in relation to the circumscribed ?traditions? of the Congada. For in such a way, first anthropological research in to the group from producers of this Party was preceded. After that they had been selected and analyzed journalistic substances published in periodicals of local circulation and televising programs that had allowed verifying deliberate forms of negotiation between congadeiros and moçambiqueiros and the media producers aiming at the conquest of the legitimacy and respect with this Party
