RESUMO

The object of the present research is to describe critically the experience of co-construction of the practice of mediation of the Mediation Office of CIC (Centro de Integraçao e Cidadania Integration and Citizenship Center) North, through the qualifying course for community mediators. It intends to make known the follow-up and consolidation of qualification through survey of knowledge that mediators display at present, after practical experience of mediation, as well as investigate and analyze the understanding of capacitated mediators (that practice activities in this area), of the conciliatory and democratic paradigm of mediation The method of this endeavour consists in re-reading, with the purpose of intensifying the practice of mediation in CICs, based on the experience of the northern part of the city of Sao Paulo, and in the recognition of the content understood by the mediators, through partly structured interviews, applied to groups of 4 mediators. Data was arranged and analyzed according to a priori ranking, anticipated in the data collection. The data will be handled by analyzing the content of the reports of the interviewees. The results confirmed the objective, pointing to the understanding of the conciliatory paradigms by the mediators. This was evinced in the daily practice within the community, and presented as a pioneering experience under this format
