RESUMO

TThe eradication of VILA IAPI Process Marks of Urban Space in Brasilia capital of Brazil- provides us a relevant contribution to the understanding of the urban and territorial dynamic of the capital. The research identifies marks, tracks and signs in the historiography of the city through the spatial cut defined as VILA IAPI. It makes possible to perceive the oppositions between rationalist and functionalist planning fruit of the modernity advent and the current social practices. In this context, it aims to evaluate and to interpret the consequences of the governmental action to eradicate the shanty towns in Brasilia in the 1970s, having the VILA IAPI as an empiric referential and its direct articulation with the technical commands induced by the city planning, interfering directly in its inhabitants life quality.Thus, the proposed work presents with the aim to contribute by means of recovering an important historical fact in Brasilia, for a better understanding of the ground process of the urban space in Brasilia.
