RESUMO

Dioclea grandiflora is popular known as âmucunÃâ, âmucunÃ-de-caroÃoâ and âolho-de-boiâ and in Brazil it is spread in caatinga and corral regions. This work, as an experimental study, aimed to identify a possible central analgesic effect of hydroalcoholic and aqueous extracts of stem bark of Dioclea grandiflora administered by intraperitoneal route in mice at doses of 30, 60 and 120 mg / kg, also the effect of the tolerance dose of 30 mg / kg, by chronic treatment for 21 consecutive days. Hot plate, tail-immersion and acetic acid-induced writhing tests were used. In the acute treatment it was observed a significant effect antinoceptive (p <0.05). This effect was inhibited by naloxone, morfinomimetic specific antagonist of opioid receptor. Whereas in the immersion test of the tail, in chronic treatment, only the hydroalcoholic extract, at a dose of 30 mg / kg showed tolerance. It is concluded that the hydroalcoholic and aqueous extracts have central analgesic action and only hydroalcoholic extract shows tolerance when administered chronically, that is typical of opioids
