RESUMO
The objective of this study was to contribute for characterization of the chemical composition of stems and fruits of Zanthoxylum tingoassuiba St. Hil., species popularly known as precious bark, tinguaciba and lemon-brave; and it is used in the popular medicine as muscle relaxant, analgesic, diuretic, antispasmodic and antiinflammatory. A specimen of Z. tingoassuiba St. Hil. was collected in the district of Jaíba, city of Feira de Santana - BA and submitted to the conventional techniques of extration as liquid-liquid partition and silica-gel column?s chromatography, obtaining 15 substances of organic extracts. From hexanic and methanolic extracts of stem had been identified: 2 alkaloids - norchelerythrine and arnottianamide, 1 lignan - sesamin and 3 terpenoids - lupeol, a-bisabolol, citronellyl acetate and espatulenol. The dichlorometanic and methanolic extration of the fruits allowed the characterization of 5 coumarins - xanthotoxin, isopimpinelin, o-prenilumbelliferone, imperatorin and aurapten, 1 protoalkaloid - methyl N-methylanthranilate and 2 steroids - estigmasterol and β - sitosterol. The structures of the compounds were elucidated by ultraviolet, mass spectrometry and 1H and 13C NMR, compared with data of literature. The linear coumarins and the benzophenantridines alkaloids are frequently associates with the Rutaceae most primitive, proto-Rutaceae (the genera Zanthoxylum, Phellodedron and Tetradium) and can be considered chemotaxonomics markers of this group. The chemical profile of the studied Zanthoxylum tingoassuiba, therefore, it is similar with other species of the genera, as well as of the Rutaceae family.
