RESUMO

The power supply dealership companies live together with high maintenance costs on electrical systems, in private one of reasons is linked to the cost and durability of wood crossarms, either in its initial installation, either in its exchange that can occur frequently, having the necessity of noble wood use in principles which, beyond the price, suffer enviromental restrictions in its uses. This work aims at to the analysis of these beams wooden, of the point of view of mechanical tests and its computational simulation, on the basis of wood with lesser enviromental restrictions, submitted or not to the impregnation with castor-oil polyurethane resin. It is presented, also, a text for the aid of reading and using futures in the application of software ANSYS.
