RESUMO

The allocation is the adequate division of the environment impacts of the process between the main product and by-products of the system. Its use if makes necessary when the system to be studied presents a multi-functional process that uses one or more functions for the life cycle. There are many allocation methods, but, until now, it does not exist an agreement between the scientific community of which methods are more adjusted for specific situations. In this context, this work objectified to identify and to evaluate used methods of allocation in Life Cycle Assessment. In this research were identified 26 methods of allocation and the comparison between them was become fullfilled by means of the identification of its elementkey and the evaluation through the following criteria: external actions, procedures, consistency in the application and double counting of impact factors. The criteria used for the evaluation had been selected with the aid of a panel of specialists composed for international researchers. After the evaluation of the methods by means of these criteria it was constructed a flowchart of decision making for the allocation method to be used by a consultant. In function of the evaluation of the methods studied, in this work, each one with its particularity can be concluded that these are different, as for example, the development of methods for a specific type of product. It does not have, therefore, the best allocation method, but an adjusted method for preset circumstances, that in this work had been determined by means of the criteria selected by the panel of specialists.
