RESUMO
We have examine the influence of long-term infusion of angiotensin II (AII) on insulin sensitivity and action on liver and skeletal muscle of rats. Rats were continuously infused with saline or AlI-lO and 40 ng/kg/min for 6 consecutive days. Arterial pressure (AP) was daily monitored with a computer system (1 hour, beat-to-beat). Insulin sensitivity was evaluated by insulin tolerance test (ITT) performed at the 5th day of AII or saline infusion. Insulin plasma levels were determined at the end of the 6th infusion day. Insulin induced tyrosine phosphorylation of insulin receptor (IR), insulin receptor substrates 1 and 2 (lRSI, IRS2) were evaluated in liver (L) and skeletal muscle (M) at the 6th experimental day...Note: The complete abstract is available with the full electronic digital thesis or dissertations
