RESUMO

The objective of the present work was to optimize the cultivation parameters of the marine shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei, Bone, 1931) with the use of regression analyss . Cultivation data were used from a marine shrimp farm located in the north forest zone in the state of Pernambuco corresponding to the period from 2001 to 2003. The adopted cultivation system was a two-phased system where the first phase was accomplished in birth tanks and the second phase in fatting nurseries . The farm has two tanks with capacity of 60 m3 and five nurseries with areas that vary from 3.23 to 4.74 ha. During these periods, post larva e from several origins were used: Tecmarão (RN), Aqualider (PE), Equabras , Verde-Mar, Netuno (PE) Compescal (RN). The post-larvae were storage in birth tanks with densities varied from 19 to 34 PL / L within a period that varied from 10 to 26 days. After this period the post-larvae were transferred to the fatting nurseries. From the total amount of 31 cultivations sets accomplished, the following variables were considered. Period of the year, cultivation time, storage density, nursery area, fatting time, number of cycles, origin of the post - larvae. and the responses; survival , final weight, the number of shrimps alive , biomass, factor of conversion feeding. It was used the multiple regression analyses to correlate these variables. and it was also used Box and Cox to select the best value of in which maximized the value of the statistical R2.. The consistency of the models were checked based on the stastistical F, R2 and residual analyses. We can conclude that the survival rate of the post-larvas of L.vanamme were bigger when the cultivation time was increased in the birth tanks phase and decreased in the fatting nurseries, with the increasing fatting density. The final weight of the shrimps decreased with the fatting time being of 11 grams for a cultivation period of 85 days.
