RESUMO
The research attempts to investigate possible changes in the mathematical representations underwent by students of CEF AM/Campinas in 1989 The basis of this study are the identification and the analysis of the myths that support representations. Therefore, the author decided to conduct a three-stage description and analysis of the process experienced by the students of 1989. According to the approach outlined above, the research was organized as it follows. Firstly, there is a theoretical study by analyzing part of the bibliography about the topic of the discussion. More specifically, the objective of the was to try recover possible interferences of mathematical concepts in the teaching-learning process during the qualification of elementary teachers. Secondly, a practical study was made to recover the mathematical concepts of the students (their myths, values and beliefs about Mathematics) at the moment of their entrance to CEFAM and their after the process of their qualification. Finally, it was observed the pedagogical performance of three students involved with the research. The description and the analysis of their performances allowed the verification of reorganization in the student s concepts and attitudes towards mathematics. This fact evidenced the importance of overcoming certain myths, beliefs, va1ues and incorrect concepts related to Mathematics in order to change the pedagogical performance of future teachers. As a result of this research, the author presents some methodological inferences and final considerations with views to overcome myths and beliefs related to Mathematics, which interfere negatively in the teaching-learning process of this subject
