RESUMO

The automatic summarization of a sporting video is resume a important data, is a task that involves analysis of a specific content in video hours. We propose here to use techniques of Computer Vision and Patterns Recognition to detect and classify highlights in a soccer game through images transmitted by TV. Texture and space characteristics will be used (color, positioning), geometry and knowledge on the soccer. The TV nets carry through the transmission use pattern of camera shots changes, based on game stops, repetitions and so on. The camera shots have long, medium and short distance. The long distance shots shows the game in real time. The highlights are those of camera shots long distance and appears the region of the area of the goal. The identification of these frames allows the automatic summarization of a game. The objective are: 1) Form a summary of the game with the highlights, analyzing recovery of models of images by content in a sporting video; 2) Propose one technique of detection significative events and summarization for soccer games. The method proposes involves the following steps: a) Pre-processing, detecting the frames which are captured of camera shots of long distance, based on the analysis of histograms. b) Select the images close to the areas them gols through segment the image in two areas: field and outside area. c) To Interpret and to classify the segmented images: attack on the left side, half field or attack on the right side. The reached results are promising, due to the complexity of image analysis in different conditions, with a 68,41% precision average and a 94,44% recall average of the highlights in four complete matches analyzed. The summarization is formed by highlights and falses highlights. Finalizing, conclusions and future works are mentioned in this dissertation.
