AvaliaÃÃo de gestÃo do conhecimento no Ãmbito do planejamento estratÃgico: um estudo de caso na Universidade CatÃlica de BrasÃlia

A case study about the evaluation of Knowledge Management at the university Universidade CatÃlica de BrasÃlia â UCB. This dissertation investigates and analyses different evaluation methods of Knowledge Management found in specialized literature, providing sufficient elements for their comprehension: Balanced Scorecard â BSC; Knowledge Management Capability Assessment Model â KMCA; Knowledge Management Performance Index â KMPI and Knowledge Management Diagnostic â KMD. After a comparative analysis of the methods, one was selected and used in a case study conducted at UCB in order to evaluate the organizationâs performance in Knowledge Management practices are and, consequently, suggest new procedures and indicators to complement the strategic planning. The chosen method, Knowledge Management Diagnostic, qualitative by nature, was complemented with a multivariate statistic technique called Factor Analysis, which, used in an exploratory way, made possible to establish correlations between the answers to the evaluation questionnaire and the framework action programs. The correlation was based on significant and well-known criteria that are used with this technique. Tests were performed to verify the reliability of the used sample and its compatibility with the Factor Analysis. The results of both tests were positive, which determined statistic validity to the results obtained. As outcome of the research, new initiatives and strategic indicators to the Balanced Scorecard of the Universidade CatÃlica de BrasÃlia are proposed. The initiatives were founded on KMD framework action programs and the indicators were extracted from a broad revision of the literature on Knowledge Management. It also recommends that the KMD be incorporated to the evaluation process of Knowledge Management at the University.
