RESUMO

Orthognathics surgery uses the measure of soft tissue profile to stablish a relation with osseous basis. However, digital methods have been used to help the prediction and accuracy of surgical planning. The present study compared the measures obtained from the cephalometric analysis of the soft tissues from brazilian xanthoderm (Japanese) with the ones obtained by SANTANA from brazilian leukoderm (white). The work was performed by using cephalometric radiograph and measured by the Dolphin Imagin 9.0 program. Thirteen individuals (9 male and 4 female) were the sample of this work. The results were inserted in an Excel program and were analysed with the non paired parametric t test. The results showed that the brazilian xanthoderm have the medium third more prominent, thicker lower lip, sharper nasolabial angle, bigger lower lip angle and bigger inclination of the superior incisive of soft profile. The conclusion of the present study with the methodology was that there are statistically significant differences between brazilian xanthoderm and leukoderm.
