RESUMO
The aim of this study was to evaluate the curing capacity in function of the light curing unit types and exposure time. The samples had been prepared using a microhibrid resin (Charisma/Kulzer) in cylindrical Teflon matrices with 3mm of diameter and 3 mm of depth, where they had been filled in a unique resin composite increment. For the determination of the intensity light emitted by the light curing unit was used radiometer (Hilux Ledmax Curing Light Meter). Three units of light had been used, one of halogen light, Ultralux (400 mW/cm2, Dabi Atlante), and two Leds: the Led RADII (1400 mW/cm2, SDI) and Led Optilight 3 CI (420 mW/cm2, Gnatus). For these three units of light, five samples had been curing during 40 and 65 seconds of exposure time. The samples had been stored in a light free recipient for 24 hours. The Vickers hardness test had been made using a load of 300g for 15s (Hmv-2 Series Shimadzu Corporation).Three impressions had been made in the surface and depth of each sample. The statistics was analyzed by ANOVA test, with Tukey-Kramer pos-test for a statistic significance of 5%. For all the types of light units and used times, the superficial layers had gotten bigger values of micro hardness than the deep layers. There was statistic significant difference in micro hardness when it was compare to halogen light Ultralux, Led RADII and led Optilight, for all the exposure times and restoration depth, except for the 40s time exposure on the superficial surface. For the halogen lights Ultralux and Led RADII, had higher micro hardness values when used 65s exposure time for superficial and depth surface. The Led Optilight appliance had higher values at 40s time exposure, although in this case there werent statistic significance difference on superficial surface.
