RESUMO

The work presents the results of the nutritional evaluation of a group of 30 undernourished children fed with pasteurized milk (batch method) during a period of 6 months. The trial was carryed on as a part of the Programa do Leite Fluído de paulínia conceived to substitute the powder milk provided to the undernourished children as a nutritional supplement. It was found no nutritional drop among the subjects according to the antropometric data obtained. Different antropometric methods for clinical diagnosis were examined critically. It is decribed the social and economic background of the children invol ved in the program as much as the incidence of diarrhea. found during the investigation. The evaluation of the program by the dairy farmers and of those involved in the distribution of the milk was positive
