Avaliação escolar no ensino fundamental: prática consciente em progressão continuada

RESUMO
The aim of this study is to reflect on the practice of school evaluation and its link with the Continuous Progression and the System of Cycles (Grades), and, also, to verify how well the teachers and directors or Rio de Janeiro State primary public schools understand this issue. This study was carried out in the public schools of the state ar Rio de Janeiro and was focused on the issue of school evaluation, in arder to understand general concepts and concepts of human, political and pedagogic dimensions, which explain the Continuous Evaluation and the System of Cycles (Grades), making reference to the Politic-Pedagogical Project as an instrument of Continuous Evaluation. In arder to achieve its aim, this study followed a descriptive line and took into consideration the observations made both orally and written by the teachers and directors of the schools which were involved in the research dane in 2002. The result analysis, as well as new observations and interviews carried out in the schools in 2004, enabled us to understand what the teachers and the directors said about school evaluation. We were able to identify three different groups that interfere daily in the construction of the educational principIes of the school, not only referring to the traditional evaluation but also to the continuous assessment
