RESUMO

The reproductlve biology of Miconia discolor, M. elegans, M. theaezans e Leandra australis was studied ln an area of semi-deciduous forest located in the municipality of Campinas, SP, Brazil. For each species, the following characteristics were analysed for a single population : morphology; presence or absence of vegetative reproduction; general characteristics of flowering and pollination system; pollen viability; pollination experiments in the field; pollen tube growth; pollen/ovule ratio and a prellminary embryological analysis. Significant mophological differences between individuais were noted in K. elegans and M. theaezans, while M. discolor and L. australis had relatively uniform populations ...
