RESUMO

There are many variables in the Petroleum Engeneering which can be subject to a stochastic treatment, some of them being permeability and porosity. Based on the formalism of random functions, numerical models have been developed, and they demonstrate the heterogeneities existent within a petroleum reservoir. In order to develop these numerical models, a power-law variographic model ,( h) = ,oh(3, which also represents fractals processes, was used. Spectral analysis was the method used for population simulations in one dimension. The Turning Bands, in its turn, was the method used for simulations in two or three dimensions. A numerical models generator having the desired characteristics, fractal ones in this case, was used in order to develop two kinds of study. The first one was related for the establishment of the optimum number of wells in order to have a conditional simulation, which represents the available information. The second one regarded the incorporation of the test analysis into the conditional simulation, aiming at maximizing the use of the available information. This kind of information is known for having a large content than any other types of well information about reservoir. Besides, this kind of information is very reliable when it is dealing with measure in well tests. To present this type of information, it is necessary to modify the algorithms of conditionalization
