RESUMO

This work aimed at to evaluate the germination and the viability of the seeds that compose the soil seed bank of a degraded area of Cerrado, in the Fazenda Água Limpa, Vargem Bonita, DF, in the end of the rainy station (may of 2006). A band of sampling of 4000 m was installed in the study area, which had been burnt in the year of 2005. In the interior of the band of sampling 30 parcels of 2 x 2 m had been delimited. 30 band of sampling (0,15 x 0,12 x 0,10 m) had been randomly collected in the interior of each parcel. Throughout 71 days the evaluations by means of the counting of seedling had been carried through that they had emerged of the ground collected and after this period was proceeded with the drying, winnowing and the direct separation of the seeds that had remained in the ground collected and that they had not germinated. 209 individual were accounted in the band of sampling of Cerrados soil seed banks. 626 in Cerradaos soil band of sampling and 338 in the Mata de Galeria, totalizing 1173 seeds that had germinated en the end of rainy station. The characteristic seedling emergency was submeted to the Lilliefors normality test, by the one was verified that the same doesnt follow the homocedasticidade absence. The diaspores found in the band of sampling of the three study areas could be identified just how grass or weed species.
