RESUMO

This study was carried in riparian Forest at Jacaré-Pepira river basin, municipality of Brotas, São Paulo State, Brazil (?48GRAUS?06?W ?22GRAUS?16?S, 470 m de altitude). Phenology, germination and dispersion of seeds, demography and same aspects of ecophysiology of ?guanandi? (Calophyllum brasiliense Camb, Clusiaceaea), a tree species with wide geographic distribuition, but more abundant in swamp forest, were analyzed. The ?guanandi? is a evergreen species, although it shed some leaves in drought season. The sprouting occurred after precipitation time, following flowering. The frutification have a peak in april, but the fruits remaining in trees during 10 months. A diversity of phonological patterns observed is due difference between sites of occurrence of individuals and breeding system of species. The fruits of ?guanandi? may be hydrocorous or zoocorous, or shed directly on the forest floor, in which may to germinate. This dispersion strategies furthered a microsites diversity which may to germinate and recruitment of seedlings. The seeds was neutral photoblastic and differences in his size don?t influenced the germination, which was faster in the fruits without pericarp. The population had ?J inverted? size class distribution, indicating his stability and autoregenerative strategies. The distribution pattern of individuals were clumped, especially the seedlings and young trees, due dispersion characteristics and topographyc features of site ...Note: The complete abstract is available with the full electronic digital thesis or dissertations
