RESUMO

This research brings to understand how the inconvenient of neighborhood, originated by incompatibles activities with residential use, can influence in the process of conservation of the âCentro HistÃricoâ of SÃo LuÃs. So, for this study, we presuppose that the permanence (durability, stability) of the residential use in the âCentro HistÃricoâ is an important aspect for its conservation. With the propositions made by âPRODETUR_MAâ and by the State Government the conditions of habitableness (habitation) of the remaining residents can be jeopardized, because they are not been foreseen compatible uses for the real states. For this reason they developed two stages of investigations: the first was concentrated on theoretical and conception themes. The second was concentrated on active uses for the cultural built (constructed) patrimony and a study about the remaining population regarding the present situation of the âCentro HistÃricoâ residents. These studies originated compatible activities with residential use according to the stage (level) of inconvenient caused by them
