RESUMO

This Research identifies and analyzes the social representations that make the educational actions in school council development more difficult and/or easier. It discusses about the legal and theoretical basis of school council, checking the enlargement of its attributions in the view of the new legislation. It points out the importance of using the new relevant competences and highlights the changes that mugi be made in the evaluation process. It searches for a forming evaluation, with special attention to a continuous progression. It shows the importance of studying the theory of Social Representation that facilitates the perception of the representations that mugi be constructed, reconstructed and maintained. It presents the procedures used in the research, its context, subjects and instruments. It propegas the datum organization for the analysis, presenting them through comparativa charts, graphics, tables and attachments. It stands out the central representations regarding: participation, evaluation, studentlteacher relationship, continuous progression and school council. It clarifies that the school council representation, as being dynamic and being inserted in a social historical context, mugi be reviewed and discussed in the perspectiva of changes
