RESUMO

In this work numerical solutions are Presented for the natural convection heat transfer by double diffusion from a heated cylinder buried in asaturated porous medium where both the cylinder and the medium surfaces are maintened at constant uniform temperature and concentration. The governing equations are Expressed in bicylindrical coordinates in the stream function formulation and handle. numerically by a control-volume method. Heat and Mass Transfer Are studied as afunction of Rayleigh number, Lewis number and the buoyancy ratio number. Perturbative type solutions for the problem are presented considering a perturbation in Rayleigh number and the bqoyancy ratio number. The Numerical results obtained are compared I with analytical results. The solution, valid in the vicinity o f the stagnant condition, allowed us to get results in terms of Nusselt and Sherwood numbers in the range Ra<2, -4
