RESUMO

This study sought to identify, by means of content analysis, the social representations which provided the basis for the reediting of two media productions in the first decade of the XXI Century about the murder perpetrated against a child by Neide Maia Lopes, the so-called Fera da Penha, in 1960. It also intended to raise the different agents that allowed a crime that was perpetrated such a long time ago to be shown by media productions (a TV show and a book), as items of a moral agenda where the silencing and the abjection were the most used resources to impede interpretations compromised with Neides life like a human being. This work presents a new understanding of the Fera da Penha case, developed through contributions of Feminist and Gender Studies, as well as the Historiography of Women.
