Do corpo-mÃquina ao corpo-informaÃÃo: o pÃs-humano como horizonte biotecnolÃgico

RESUMO

This research analyses the ways of problematization of the relations between body and new technologies put into practice by the media and academic field discoursive production. It is about thinking how the relation body and technology has become an issue, which discoursive practices, related with a variety of coexistent and lateral practices, has made this issue arise as an object for thought. The discoursive practices analysed suggest a new discoursive formation configuration â which we named âposthumanâ â marked off by an archeological mutation: the passage from the machinebody to the information-body. The analysis shows that, if on the one hand, the discourses associated to the new technologies apparatus operate important deconstructions of the metaphysical oppositions man/machine, humans/no-humans, natural/artificial, nature/culture which has supported the occidental thought, particularly its anthropocentric-humanist characteristic, when it shows up, for instance, moments of indecibility related to the human agency; on the other hand, it was possible to notice on the body of the discourses a set of ambiguities which reveals some difficulties on the transition of these positions, moment at which we identify elements of permanence, of continuity and repetition of the metaphysics itself, such as the opposition mind/body. It follows that the configuration of a new discoursive formation does not necessarily mean a âsurpassing of metaphysicsâ. We have found out that the wide variety of discoursive practices which focus on the body nowadays delimited by the historical a priori of the information, defined by the connection of cybernetics, information technologies and molecular biology, which are on the foundation of the digitalizing and virtualization of the body practices. It is on this archeological field we hope to find the new configuration conditions of possibility on which the discourses about the cyborg body inscribe themselves, information body, post-human body, which nowadays we can see molded both media and academic field. From an archeo-genealogical perspective, we understand that these discoursive practices themselves are anchored in new types of power-knowledge which end up making for an indefinite plastic possibility of operating with the body â that should for that reason be arisen as a theme within the force diagram which draw them
