RESUMO

Cyclosporin A (CsA) is an imunossupressive agent extensively used for the treatment and prevention of allograft rejection in transplanted recipients. Malignant disease are related between the side effects of CsA treatment. The aim of this investigation was to avaliate oral carcinogenesis in rats receiving CsA treatment (10 mg/Kg weightlday), and topic applications of the 4- nitroquinoline 1-oxide (4NQO) carcinogen 0,5% in propylenoglicol, 3 times a week. The experimental investigation took 240 days. In ali rats treated with 4NQO and with the association of CsA and 4NQO, macroscopic alterations as whitening mucosa, exofitic growth and ulcers were found in palate and tongue. Microscopically finds were hyperqueratosis, ephitelial dysplasia in several scores, microinvasive carcinoma and invasive squamous cells carcinoma grade I. Ali the alterations found in this investigation tended to be more pronunciated or severe when CsA was associated with 4NQO, in both palate and tongue.
