RESUMO

An in vitro study was developed to compare two contrast media used in sialography, an oil-soluble - Lipiodol UF -, and a water-soluble Telebrix 38. This comparison was developed through an experimental model and densitometer readings, that can to simulate the salivary glands in a sialographic visualization. The radiopacity of contrast media were evaluated as to clear and when injected against the artificial saliva column, observing a solubility as time goes by - O seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute and 1 minute and 30 seconds. There was not have radiopacity. difference between Lipiodol UF and Telebrix 38 in clear order. The Lipiodol UF did not show dilution in artificial saliva, taken densitometer readings closely with the clear Lipiodol UF, during the whole period of experience study. In another hand, the Telebrix 38 showed immediate dilution after your injection. To measure this dilution through the times, was made dilution in order by 25%, 50% and 75%. Immediately after its injection the Telebrix 38 showed a dilution in order by 500/0; after 30 seconds and 1 minute, the dilution increase between 50% and 750/0; and after 1 minute and 30 seconds, the dilution became above 75% .
