RESUMO

The flexible structures dynamic behaviour is many times influenced by coupling with fluid media, and depending on the application type, it is necessary to choose the most appropriate type of mathematical formulation and consistent variables for the best problem analyses. In this work, the main existing mathematical formulation are studied using the Finite Element Method applied to fluid-structure interaction problems. Analyses of the main characteristics of every one of these formulations is done, from the equations point of view, is as well as their computer implementations, together with the analyses of the numerical methods needed for the solution of the resultant matrix system and the kind of problems that can be solved. Choosing a type of symmetric formulation in displacements, velocity potentials and hydrostatic pressure for implementation. For validation and estimation of the used methodology the structure is discretized using beam elements, and the fluid using triangle linear elements. Solving fluid-structure interaction problems applied to static problems, natural frequencies and mode shape analyses of acoustic cavities with rigid, movable and flexible boundaries. Finally, an engineering practical problem is considered where an acoustical and coupled automobile passengers cabine is studied
