RESUMO

The variations between input and output flow rates is the best indication to detect the occurrency of a kick in slim holes. However, this rate variation might be caused by other reasons, such as change on rotary drilling speed. These reasons may generate false alarm conditions on the platform. This dissertation presents a numerical solution for the problem, in which pressure drop, flow rate and drill string rotations for Power Law Model are closely related with the purpose to have the drilling fluids flowing across the slim anullus. Based upon the results obtained from this numerical solution, a determinations can be made as to the existence of a real kick situation or false alarm
