RESUMO

In this work it has been done a qualitative electrochemical study on the following halides: allyl bromide and chloride, benzyl bromide and chloride, propargyl bromide and chloride. The electrochemical technique used was cyclic voltammetry. As solvent it was used a mixture of H2O/MeOH in different proportions and NH4Cl 0,1M or KBr 0,1M as the supporting electrolyte. It was used the following working electrodes: disc glassy carbono (C), disc silver (Ag), disc gold (Au) and platinum (Pt). It has bem performed some cyclic voltammetry of benzaldehyde in simillar conditions. It was also performed Barbier-Grignard type reactions in aqueous media of those halides with benzaldehyde in order to compare the yields of such reactions with the observed electrochemical behaviour of the halides and of benzaldehyde. One of objectives of this work is knowing better the electrochemical behaviour of halides commonly used in organometallic reactions in aqueous media and verify some possible correlation between the peak potentials of such halides and that of benzaldehyde with the yields of Barbier-Grignard type reactions in aqueous media comprising these reagents
