RESUMO

The basidiomycete Ganoderma lucidum is a very popular mushroom in traditional Chinese medicine, called "Lingzhi" or "mushroom of immortality". Studies have shown several beneficial pharmacological properties of this fungus, suggesting its use as an aid in treatments against various human diseases. It is not very common in nature. Thus, cultivation is the best way to address an increasingly wide market. Among the several existing methods of cultivation for fungiculture, the Jun-Cao technique is considered the most promising for the production of mushrooms in scale that meets the growing demand. Knowing that the biochemistry of an organism can vary between different strains and understand the need to find new varieties of G. lucidum, to expand the options for growing the fungi, this study sought to compare Chinese strains and unexplored Brazilian strains of G. lucidum, to assess the value of these biochemical. The results show that the cultivation of wood combined with grass was more promising in the development of strains in both reduction in duration of cultivation on the quality and quantity of mushrooms. The Brazilian strain (CC-144) is highlighted in both the speed of growth, as productivity and the concentration of basidiomes biochemistry of proteins, carbohydrates, phenols and β- glucans, surpassing the Chinese and showing an option for fungiculture. The RAPD analysis showed genetic distinction between the lines, discarding the possibility of clones
