RESUMO

Discuss the importance of social capital to the local development. Realize a case study about the Espírito Santos watering place, called Guarapari. Start with a thesis that the city lost your social capital reserve when it has permitted a disarranged process of urban growth. Introduce the Guaraparis historical trajet, in the context of Espírito Santos historical trajet. Thereafter informations analysis, contests the thesis to show that the city hasnt lost your social capital reserve with the process of urban growth, because it has never had one. Concludes that the absence of social capital in Guarapari leaded a disordered urban growth. At last, shows some challenges to Guarapari can create a virtuous circle of social capital and revert the actual decadent economic-social picture.
