RESUMO

The goal of this work is to understand argentine imigration in São Paulo, considering the facts of recent history (1970-83), anel the new identity grown under the paulistan view. Through testimonies, we tried the re-construction of the path that can explain the presence of this community in São Paulo, anel the different kind of these imigrants, first as simply argentines, anel later as argentines in São Paulo. More than working with oral history, we used sources form the press, mainly from the newspapers El Clárin, La Opinión anel La Nación, anel several official documents, anel publications of electronic media. In the Chapter I, following that perspective, we made a tipification of the argentine migratory movement, searching the causes of expulsion, anel its meaning in the history of Argentinc. We looked for some historieal links of argentine identity present in different discutions sinee the seventies. Then, in Chapter II, the years of State Terrorism, betwcen 1976 anel 1983, anel the effects of eulture of fear that reamins in the memory of those that suffered it. The traumatie experience determining sue a geography of sensibilities, not much known, fills Chapter III. In this Chapter, the evoeations ar the people interviewed is seco from an uni verse of rmages anel rales, that are able to re-build that geography with the experienee os resignification
