RESUMO
The starting point of this work is the supposed influence of road environment factors on drivers behavior, interfering in the values of the microscopic traffic models parameters. This work aims at verifying the influence between these factors and the drivers behavior by means of the variations in the parameters of traffic models. Thus, this research investigates for the possibility that taking road environment factors into account in the procedure of calibration makes the simulation more realistic. It occurs that the models parameters calibration is a process that, generally speaking, needs too much time and equipments for data collection. So, at the time that the consideration of road environment factors would turn the work more realistic, the whole process would be more difficult. This way, the analysis of the influence of these factors in the parameters values would contribute to the calibrations process because it would allow a relationship between the variables to be established, which could be used in future works. These analyzed factors were defined based on those which were not incorporated by the simulation models. The influence of these factors were collected studying drivers behavior, and from that point, the relationship between some specifics factors and the parameters models that were identified. The relationship identified was tested through the data obtained from six different types of road. A simulation model was used for testing the found relationship. From the found results, it is possible to say that the values of the parameters of microscopic traffic models are influenced by the road environment factors. Most of the comparisons of the defined parameters desired speed level and acceleration/deceleration rate, made between the selected places show that the values were different. However, in the analysis of the individual influence of a specific factor, establishing a direct relationship between the difference of the free flow speed and the characteristic analyzed by the research was not possible. Regarding the acceleration rate, identifying a relationship between the closeness of signalized intersections and the acceleration/deceleration rate was possible.
