RESUMO

This is an investigative survey research that intends to out1ine alternatives which will support actions in the Brasilian Rare-Earth Mineral Industry. Domestic and international trends were pointed out considering not only the geological data but also market variables. Whith the development of a Prospective methodology; institutional, technological, strategics, micro and macroeconomics aspects were treated.Sector and inter-sectors constraints and gaps, correlated to the needed capacities for the policies implementation and to the strategy management, were identified.Initally Prospection and Prospective as analisys tools of technology and market, as well its appliances in Rare-earth industry study is presented. Following a comparison between worldwide and brazilian economical aspects in Rare-Earth industry is made. Trend and perspectives for the whole industry and for each single Rare earth metal are then examineted in such a way to consider on expectable alternatives and results in Brazil.At last, conclusions on the mineral Policy and Rare-Earth Industry management as strategic mineral/materials are made
