RESUMO

This work aims the taxonomic study of the Leguminosae in seasonal forests of the Itacolomi State Park (PEI), check habitat preference, geographic distribuition of the sampled species and the analysis of floristic similarity among differents forests areas. The collection was carried out monthly, from september /2004 to november /2005. The study area comprised eigth tracks: Alcan, estrada de Baixo, Forno, estrada da Torre, Baú, Custódio, Belém and Cibrão. After field collection, the specimens were botanized, and included in VIC Herbarium and duplicates were sent to OUPR Herbarium. Taxonomic determination was carried out by means of specialized literature, visits to herbaria, and consultation with specialists. The taxonomic study gathered 65 specific and infra-specific taxa in 34 genera, which are distribues among all three subfamilies, the richest bein Papilionoideae in both genera (20) and species (30). The most representative genera were Inga (8 spp.), Machaerium (6 spp.), Dalbergia (5 spp.) and Senna (5 spp.). Keys, descriptions, illustrations and comments about phenology, taxonomy and geographical distribution are provided for the taxa. Ormosia friburgensis and Sclerolobium friburgense had their distribution area amplified for the Minas Gerais State. Most of the studied species (69,2%) occurred in submontane seasonal forest, showing Leguminosae preference for lower altitude. In relation to habitat preference, 73,8% were considered generalistic floristic elements and 26,2% specialists in the atlantic forest domain. Among 65 taxa, eight distribution patterns were identified: Amphiatlantic (2 spp.), Neotropical (9 spp.), Western-Central-Eastern South America (18 spp.), Central-Eastern Brazil (10 spp.), Northeastern-Southeastern-Southern Atlantic Brazil (7 spp.), Northeastern-Southeastern Atlantic Brazil (7 spp.), Southeastern-Southern Atlantic Brazil (4 spp.), Southern Atlantic Brazil (8 spp.). Among these patterns, 43% of the taxa were verified in the atlantic pattern, showing that almost half of the species found were distributed on the atlantic coast. The PEI flora showed to be more similar to the Itatiaia National Park (RJ), attributed to the location of these areas on the Mantiqueira range and to abiotic factors such as altitude and rainfall.
