RESUMO
Spleen cells from herpes simplex-infected mice have been shown to lyse 51Cr-labeled virus-infected target cells. The cell-mediated lysis was shown to be antibody dependent but not involving adherent cells. Lysis of infected cells by this mechanism may be one form of host defense in infection by some viruses.
