RESUMO

This work deals with a new transient method for measuring thermal condutivity and diffusivity of porous samples. In the proposed method, temperature and heat flux are measured dynamically allowing conditions to vary in time at the point of measurement. By application of the Laplace transform to the measured data, it is possible to determine the sample thermal properties by means of simple techniques, usually used when the heat flux is mantained constant. The influence of thermal contact-resistance and moisture cóntent on the deter¬mination of the thermal properties of the sample are also studied. The laboratory experiments were carried out on sandstone samples under three saturation conditions: dry samples, water-saturated samples and samples containing oil and water. The theorethical development is presented, alongo with the experimental proce¬dures, data treatment , and an error analysis for the values obtained
