RESUMO

This work aims at presenting a study about some digital inpainting techniques, based on Partial Diferential Equations. The goal is to restore degraded or damaged areas of a digital image, keeping its original features. To reach this goal, some of the most known inpainting techniques were described, as the Elastica inpainting model, which is very complex and a suggestion was made, with a simpler equation but not less efficient. A model proposed to noise removal, was applied to the digital inpainting problem and this model was adapted to reach better results, i.e., a final image as much uniform as possible. Some considerations about the advantages and the disadvantages of each model were performed, as well as the application of the problem to color imagens and the influence of inpainting domain topology in the final result.
