RESUMO

This study contextualize the issue of the Endogamy based on Marriage among kinfolk as a preferential option of determined family of ConceiÃÃo do Vale do Piancà Country in the âsertÃoâ region of the State of ParaÃba as a case study. It emphasizes the complexity of the study of this custom by transcending the structural issues and the family relationship organization system as well as the study of the family in itself and using the history, the historic demography and genealogy, documents and notarized registers as well as parochial registers as research methodology for the comprehension of its logic and as understanding and parameter of what presents itself as âRealâ, opposing the imaginary, in the analysis and interpretation of the narratives and stories, the oral and non official writing, picked up from the interviewed own perspectives. In conclusion, it became evident the existence of several types of prejudices to feed the central idea of a possible âblood purityâ of the group which with identity and social representation would grow strong politically
