RESUMO
Momentum relationships involved in the motion of a sphere through a perfect fluid are considered. The mechanism, by which the momentum given to a sphere by an external impulsive force is transferred to the container as a whole, is traced through in some detail, and energy and momentum relationships are discussed. Comparison is made with a 3He atom or a roton moving in superfluid 4He.
