Os estudantes universitarios e a Aids : o que aponta a produção nacional de 1980 a 2003

RESUMO

This study of a bibliographic nature had as its purpose to investigate the Brazilian researches whose content contemplated simultaneously the AIOS and the university student. It had like objective to identify and analyze: a) the researches general characteristics analysis: the temporal distribution by publication format, the geographical source and the institutions nature of the associated authors; b) characteristics of the students involved in the studies: gender, age, graduation course and the higher education institutions administrative category with whom they were associated; c) characteristics of the researches content: the nature of university formation skills and of the students changes facing the AIOS; d) the relationship between the formation skills and the students changes. The survey of the researches relating to the period of 1980 to 2003 allowed to identify 61 studies among periodic articles, Master s dissertations, Ooctoral thesis and books. The results showed that, regarding to the researches general characteristics, the articles were quantitative distinguished over the other information sources; the second half of the period analyzed was responsible for the greatest number of works; the Southeast region concentrated more than a half of these researches and the authors were. mainly associated with the institutions with education objectives. In reference to the students characteristics, both mal e and female were considered with equivalent frequency; the traditional student age group was predominantly focused; courses related to the health area were the most privileged, as well as, students of public higher education institutions. In respect to the characteristics of the researches content, the formation skills identified in the studies included schooling itself, intervention programs, disciplines and lectures, while the students changes involved knowledge, representations and attitudes and behavíors. In the relation between the formation skíllsand the students changes, the university schooling, as the most focused formatíon skíll in the studies, did not reveal itself enough in the guarantee of the expected behaviors. The obtained results, added to the expansion of the higher education in Brazil, suggest the need and the urgency to treat the student as an inhomogeneous group. This research justified itself in the conception that the university possesses great social responsibility and must fulfill a role that is not limíted to the professional formation, but that allows an integral student formation
