RESUMO

The present research tried to trace a profile of the meat-packing industy of Barretos, founded in 1913,whose capital was originating from the sector exporter and transferred to the Anglo S/A in 1923 - company of foreign capital in a moment of monopolization of the meat market to trusts. The innovations implemented by this industry after it was sold, based on taylorists racionalization techniques demanded a new relation between businessmen and workers, which occasioned long working hours with consequent raise in produtivity, therefore, it compromised the conditions and the level of working security. The characteristics of the workes of Anglo SI A were analysed focusing their origin, salary level, post taken, resistence . strategy among others. On the other hand, in this studied period the research verifyed the subterfuges used by the industry towards discipline and reprimand of its workers
