RESUMO

This dissertation made a study on the state of Bahia in sectors of activities primarily related to the segment of agronegócio. Through the model of the exporter base and indicators of regional analysis, studied the Bahia State and the West of Bahia state respectively. The tests of inferences econometric model export base concur analyzes of the State which has been characterised by microrregiões and potential sectoral activities directed toward the external market. The results were satisfactory to the extent that in two years studied (1995 and 2005), if tested for Bahia the causality relations between the sectors of activities of export and directed to the internal market, getting the multiplier effect on employment. Regarding the indicators it was observed that the main sectors and municipalities in the west of Bahia state, indicate to some degree of competitiveness in exports. Emerges that, at no time constraints and theoretical methodologies, as well as the use of secondary database were disregarded in the assessments and comparative analyzes of this work.
