RESUMO

Nowadays, the products for personal hygiene, perfumery and cosmetics are in expansion in the world market being considered a good investment focus. New researches are being developed to improve the action of cosmetic products and its acceptance by the consumer. Many active agents present in cosmetics are unstable compounds, which react with other components in the formulation, or can cause irritations on skin. The encapsulation of the actives becomes a viable alternative in order to increase their stability, protecting them against undesirable reactions, allowing a controlled delivery and enhancing their presentation in the formulation. This work studied processes for preparation of hydrogel particles using agar, alginate and chitosan, and encapsulation of active agents for capillary treatment. The particles were prepared using different operational conditions and had their mean diameter, mechanical resistance of non-particulated gel and stability in water and shampoo basis characterized. The obtained particles could be soft, easily disrupted by finger pressure, able to encapsulate high amounts of actives and stable during storage in water and shampoo basis. Their properties can be easily modulated by the formulation and conditions used in the preparation. The results show the potentiality of hydrogels particles for encapsulation of active agents and applications in cosmetic formulations for capillary treatment
