RESUMO
This report describes the first well-documented reported case of the recovery of Blastomyces dermatitidis from the blood of a patient with disseminated blastomycosis. The isolate was recovered by using a lysis-centrifugation method and inhibitory mold agar after 6 days of incubation at 30 degrees C. One of six blood samples collected yielded a positive culture.
